Banana Peels and Carpet Tacks

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

…that’s what you find on the path of Life, isn’t it? Of course, if a careless neighbor lets his dog run loose, you might find something else on the path of Life. In that case, maybe you’ll want to find another simile… “Well my son, Life is like a beanstalk… isn’t it?” That’s from a swell Procol Harum song!

Um, er, anyway, the schedule got away from me. (See above notice.) I don’t have a particularly strange chicken item to show you right now — how about a particularly strange item about a turkey, that’s pretty close. It’s a movie made in 1971: Blood Freak. It is indeed a mighty peculiar feature about a burly young man who eats some experimentally-developed turkey at the behest of some scientists, and turns into… a turkey-headed killing machine! No, really! Here’s a picture:

So then he goes around killing pot-smoking hippies and saws a guy’s leg off and drinks human blood and has sex with his girlfriend (while still a were-turkey) and gets decapitated and eaten himself but it’s all a dream and there’s some inspirational Christian teaching, too! You can see a couple of dandy reviews for yourself:
