Summer Fun Surprise, Wow-Wow!!
Wednesday, June 28th, 2006You gaze at the above comic, wondering “Say, what happened to the exciting adventures of Fish and Norm in the weird, arcane world of the Sock-Suckers? Huh?” Well, I’ll tell you: evil forces conspired to prevent me from finishing it, oh all right, I’m a lazy so-and-so and it’s too hot and my brain hurts. So I ask myself, “Self, what can I throw up there on the ol’ monitor?” Not being a split personality, I get no reply. So I decide for now to break off from the Sock-Suckers tale, instead treating my hordes of loyal readers to my immortal tale: Plan Nine From Vortox! This thrilling story is complete (having been published in 1994 by MU Press), thus bringing certain advantages:
1: I don’t have to draw anything new (a major advantage right there).
2: The online publishing schedule shall be updated to three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, & Friday).
3: And thirdly,
4: Millions of potential readers who have never seen this exciting tale of Vortoxian scheming will finally be able to catch up on things, enabling them to live full rich lives once again! If you are one of the five or six people who already bought the book, well, er-umm.
Wanna see the cover? In a carry-over from the Fantagraphics series, Texan genius Brad W. Foster once again agreed to do the coloring job — even after learning what the rate of pay was! You can click the thumbnail below:

Having been one of those faithful readers back in the day of Critters, it’s such a delight to stumble (literally!) across this site and see Fish back in action. Now, I can get a weekly fix of Fission Chicken, which cheers me up before having to go and deal with the hordes of clueless users… *chuckle*
Thanks for providing this once more to tickle the funny bone.

No doubt about it, there’s nothing like seeing Fish giving Vortoxians the bird (pun intended).

BTW, what’s up with Mr. Foster these days? I haven’t heard from him in ages.

Y’know, it’s strange, but I haven’t been in contact with BWF for a long time. Even stranger, Mr. Foster had gone for the longest time without a website of his own (that I knew of) — until recently! Brad W. Foster has begun construction of a new site dedicated to Jabberwocky Graphix, his mighty publishing empire!

(Still under construction, but there’s an email address for inquiries and fan mail!)
