In 1997, Shanda Fantasy Arts published Valiant Varmints, a multi-creator comic which featured a number of anthropomorphic characters (Fission Chicken, Beatrix Farmer, Superswine, Savage Squirrel, Moon Mouse, Bullet Crow, Phantom Bunny, and Snowbuni) each trying to solve their own section of a mystery involving the villain Bullethead. The creative crew included Mike Curtis, Shane Fisher, Carl Gafford, Jeff Wood, Charles Ettinger, Taral Wayne, Gary Fields, Kjartan Arnörsson, Chuck Fiala, and Your Truly.
