Thursday, February 7th, 2008The old adage “Grasshopper always wrong in argument with Chicken” certainly applies to any situation involving huge grasshopper creatures and the Chicken of Wrath!
(By the way… one improvement I plan for this site involves placing all the stories in their own section, thus enabling the reader to read the tales more easily… without all the random stuff you might encounter in the archives! Clever, eh?)

How ’bout some classic science fiction TV? Captain Scarlet! (Captain Scarlet!) This 1967 series from Sylvia and Gerry Anderson and Reg Hill starred a hero who could come back from the dead, thanks to the power of “retro-metabolism”! Part 1 of the intro episode:

Boy… that “retro-metabolism” must work pretty good — Captain Scarlet falls like a mile to the ground, and he recovers! (They say it’s 800 feet, but it looks like a mile… ol’ CS must’ve been pretty smooshed-up when he hit the pavement. They probably had to pry him out of his crater!)

I can’t remember the rest of the lyrics, but I seem to recall the Fission Chicken Battle Hymn ending with “…a great big heavy object!”.
There is much yay to be had here.
