Walt’s Brain: Making A Big Hit
Sunday, September 21st, 2008Well, this Gorbo guy doesn’t say much, but he still makes his intentions clear. There still seems to be customers in the pizza joint; maybe they’re used to this sort of thing.
Say, does “Chernobyl Chicken” sound like a possible FC villain? Well, maybe you can get a stuffed and mounted Chernobyl Chicken for your very own from Custom Creature Taxidermy Arts! Artist and naturalist Sarina Brewer creates Frankensquirrels, Winged Kittens, Devil Cats, Mummified Chupacabras and all sorts of other cool stuff.

Of course you’ve heard about the American superhero Chickenman… but now there’s a French crimefighter by the name of Coq-Man, who fights evil with his sidekick Poussin! Created by Cyrille Munaro. (Link leads to Superpouvoir.com forums, in French.)

Crappy TV Cartoons Dept: Why not have a look at this analysis by Kyle Evans (a former Family Guy fan) that describes how Seth McFarlane is a “talentless writer” who “doesn’t have a clue about animation,” and how rotten the animation on FG is to boot!
And there’s a big ol’ bug double feature below the banners, too!

How’s about a “Big Bug” Double Feature? Here’s Tarantula (1955) with John Agar and Leo G. Carroll. Carroll plays a scientist who, concerned with food for an increasing world population, works on a special nutrient formula. (He really should not have tried it on the tarantula.) Agar is another scientist trying to find out what’s going on.
And here’s the flick that started the whole “Giant Insect” genre in the 1950s… THEM! (1954) The first and the best. Read this nice review over at the Fantastic Movie Musings & Ramblings site!
Since it’s a double feature, let’s throw in one of the all-time greatest Looney Tunes short: Rabbit Seasoning (1952) by Michael Maltese and Chuck Jones! Man… imagine watching this in the theater with an audience when this first came out!
