For this week’s horror feature, let’s start with this great William Castle classic: House on Haunted Hill (1958)! With Vincent Price! This one really began Price’s career as a horror star, and still far outshines the tepid 1999 remake. Here, read this super review over at The Bad Movie Report! (Warning: spoilers.) By the way, the movie begins with a black screen that lasts for a while.
Here’s a great one from 1962: Carnival of Souls! A young woman survives an into-the-river car accident and tries to get on with her life… but she’s increasingly haunted by eerie people. The first moments might look sort of corny, but stay with it; this flick fully deserves its “classic” status. Read a bit more about it at Fantastic Movie Musings & Ramblings.
